Regional Director of Coaching – Nate Milevskiy

Nate Milevskiy (Mil-lev-skee) is the Regional Director of Coaching for Brisbane Metro. Nate joins Metro after four years as RDC for Sunshine Coast Hockey Association. At Hockey Nate was responsible for junior athlete development pathways including training, mentoring and player database management as well as coach-the-coach programs and representative team scouting, selection and management. Nate has coached men’s and women’s hockey teams to local, state and national championships. He was a hockey video analyst for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Nate’s baseball background includes growing up playing in the Cairns youth program. He then moved on to play high school baseball in the USA on a scholarship. He played Division II collegiate baseball in New Hampshire until a knee injury ended his collegiate baseball career prematurely. Since then, his focus has been on coaching and developing youth and adult athletes in baseball and hockey in the United States and Australia, including establishment of new leagues and programs.

“I’m excited to get back into my love of baseball. I have spent years in a similar role with hockey, however baseball was always my love,” Milevskiy stated.

As RDC, Milevskiy has a wide array of responsibilities including helping to select and coordinate Metro representative coaches and teams, working with clubs to develop coach development plans and pathways, supporting the creation and implementation of player development programs including a player development and performance database, and working with BQ and Metro clubs to ensure consistent pathways and priorities.
